Logotype “Alghero”

This project consisted in the creation of a logo for thealghero’s city, for foster her from the tourist and coultural point of view. I decided to concentrate my study on one aspect of the city: the sea and in particular of the sea urchin. At this fruit, for severa years, the municipality dedicates a festival in Jenuary and February. It’s a very important event because it attracts tourism from all parts of Sardinia and also overseas, in a time of the year when it is almost absent. The sea urchin is a fruit of the sea that comes in different variations of quality and of aesthetic: the color of the quills can vary from black, green, red, to purple. It is also an important resource for the city and a delicious dish for your kitchen.

Substituting to the rouded letters the image of the hedgehog plugs, I tried to create the image of the bunch that is in
nature on the rocks or in baskets of fishermen. For the other letters instead I used a font that represents at best the irregural forms of the sea: the pieces of wood, rocks, that water with its force change.

I did the tests zoom in and out, of positive and negative, to see if legibility was maintained.

Graphics

During the Graphics Element course, by Mario Piazza, I made two different projects. The first concerns the study of an ancient lapide, with the photographic and graphic relief through the frottage technique, the research of the proportion rules between the different letters and the reconstruction of the alphabet. For the letters that there weren’t, I have tried to rebuild following the compositional rules derived from the others.

A second step was the digitization of manual studies and so the rewrite of the lapide using the new created alphabet.

Golden Section

These are refunds that I did to search the presence of the golden section, hidden within works of art. A search which was to observe only the presence of this relationship and not say the use of conscious and intentional by the artist. I worked on a monument, the Church di San Giovanni of Oristano, and a work of Piero della Francesca, Madonna della Misericordia, in which I have noticed the presence of a secret geometry based on golden ratio.

Although the Church does not have symmetry, it can be seen from the geometrical reconstruction, such as the golden section was used for the building of a less work.
